5 Simple Tricks to Improve your Overall Health

Hello Fellow Zen Masters,

If you are reading this, you have already proven to yourself that you are ready to optimize your health. As a former chemistry student, I take great interest in nutrition; mainly, what I put inside my body. I take note of the chemicals and dosage in each thing I consume and how it affects my homeostasis.

As organic beings with a consciousness, we are in a constant state of flux. This continuous motion we call metabolism allows us to flow at certain frequencies and attract certain circumstances into our lives.  A simple, yet minor change may align our nervous system and drastically improve our heart rate. Here are some of my tips that seem almost too simple to actually instill change towards a healthier body:

  1. Water - Minimum: 3L/day
  2. Minerals - Coral Calcium/ Xylitol
  3. Sleep - Dream Recall is linked to Memory/ Magnesium
  4. Screen time - Eliminate Social Media
  5. Writing - Manifestation journal

Before I begin, I would like to mention two minor things. One, I don't want to endorse any specific products so, I won't be naming any brands unless I'm asked. Second, I won't be getting into deep background detail about each of the tips. I will just be focusing on the simplicity of the tips. Again, thank you for your time in reading my post.

One: Water

Flint, Michigan (a city in the USA) has not had clean water since April 25, 2014.

Water is extremely vital, but I won't dive too deep into that but I will point out that simply switching to a higher quality of water leads to a drastic improvement of health. (I will eventually discuss the reasons why water is so important)

For now, I just want to tell my personal experience with changing my water quality. At the end of 2023, I invested in a fancy gravity water filter for myself. (A gravity filter simply means that it uses the force of gravity to allow water to pass through a carbon filter to collect impurities) The special thing about mine is that it also has a ceramic pre-filter and alkalizing mineral quartz crystals. I am not trying to promote any products, but my entire body is so much healthier ever since I started drinking from this water filter.

Water is the universal solvent, therefore it can dissolve just about anything we eat. Water also protonates (hydrates) each of our cells. There is about 42 Liters of water in our body and makes up about 60% of our body weight. Most of the water resides within the intracellular domain of each cell, aka inside each cell.

When drinking water, we are hydrating every single cell inside our body. As the water enters our bloodstream, it ionizes(activates) the electrolytes(sodium) in our cells. Once each cell establishes equilibrium, the average pH of each cell then determines the overall pH of our body. There are about 5L of blood in the average person, so we must drink at least half of that (2.5L) a day to balance our body. I strive for 3L of water a day.

As our self-awareness grows, we may begin to notice the sensitivity of our body's pH equilibria. I have been on a journey in finding the right balance for my own body because everyone is different every day. Simply put, life is all about finding balance.

Two: Minerals

Coral Calcium
Sugar/Xylitol

Here is a video of me replacing normal white sugar with Xylitol, a sugar substitute. It tastes and feels the same as sugar, so it tricks the brain just enough to make it tolerable. Sadly, we aren't able to replace all the sugar we consume, but this is a great start in a healthier direction.

White sugar is so toxic to our bodies, yet we are all addicted because of our genetic makeup. Previous generations of humans needed to exert much more physical energy than we currently do, so our body naively thinks we need to consume as much sugar as possible. Controlling our sugar intake is a great starting point in brain discipline and replacing white sugar with Xylitol is an excellent way to go the extra mile for our health. I don't have any fancy statistics or facts about sugar, but I do know that it breaks down to glucose-6-phosphate to produce 2 ATP molecules. (ATP is the body's unit of energy) The ATP gives sugar the energy to create ribose-5-phosphate which is a key link in making the nucleotides used in DNA production. Although not directly linked, our sugar intake is crucial for cellular repair at the DNA level.

Three: Sleep
